Emmaus Coventry & Warwickshire provide community living and work for previously homeless people, and they are recruiting a General Manager. More information can be found at www.emmaus.org.uk/jobs
Summer Mission Projects. We have a small budget to support Students who want to go and help on Summer missions.If you want to be considered for a grant, please apply as soon as possible. Contact Margaret Tsipouras or the Church Office to apply.
Job vacancies at the Lighthouse (Christian Care Ministry). The Light House are looking for a Staff Councillor and an Office Assistant. If you are interested please see the notice board in the lobby for the job descriptions.
Cancer Research UK are looking for teams for Relay For Life in August http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/relay/. The teams need to consist of 8-15 people (all ages are welcome) and the aim is to have one member of each team walk or run around the track overnight. The event is taking place at Stoneleigh Park from Sat 15th - Sun 16th Aug and teams will be camping out in tents and enjoying a variety of entertainment. If you are interested please contact the church office.
Thinking of coming to New Wine? Fancy a change? Why not come on team?! Pebbles are looking for 6 people to be stewards for their venue. The role involves welcoming parents and children and the beginning and end of sessions and ensuring children's safety throughout the morning. Fancy a bit more contact with children? We still have a few spaces for adults on team as "keyworkers". Come and see God move in amazing ways with 3 and 4 year olds! Both these roles are full time team places, meaning you work 8.30am-12.30pm and 2pm-4.00pm but then you have your evenings free. Coming on team means you have a free place to New Wine, and you get all your meals provided. Interested? Contact Sarah Ashelby ASAP.

Use your business skills to make a difference Jerry is running a major TBN conference in London on 16 May, on using enterprise to alleviate poverty. Speakers include Sir Peter Vardy and Baroness Caroline Cox. Please come! E-mail Jerry or the Church office for more info.

Smart Alecs Wanted for a joint Westwood/St Joseph's Quiz Aid evening on Wed. May 14th. Part of Christian Aid week. Turn up with a ready made team [8 max] or help form a team when you arrive. 7.45 start for short service with a Christian Aid theme, 8.15 refreshments, 8.30 Quiz starts. £2.00 per person. Breaking the Chains of Global Debt – Sunday May 18th at Birmingham Convention Centre. Celebrate tenth anniversary of the famous Birmingham human chain; demand a lasting solution. See notice board at St John's or visit www.journeytojustice.org
Sunday Evening Fellowship will be meeting this evening at 6.15pm. It will not be meeting on the 18th because of the Evening Comnunion Service at St. John’s but will be meeting on the 25th May. Everyone is welcome! For more details contact the Church Office.
HOPE RISING. Be part of HOPE 08! Why not bring a friend or neighbour to this musical telling the Easter story? Performance by Canley Churches Choir on Thursday 15 May at 7 – 8.15pm, at Charter Primary School, Mitchell Avenue, Canley and again on Saturday 17 May at 7.30pm at Canley Evangelical Church, Charter Avenue. Admission is free. If further details required contact Adam or Helen Tucker via the Church Office.

Time Out’s lunch at The Queen’s Head, Bretford, is this Tuesday, 13th May, at 12.30pm.
Living in Community, Thursday May 15th, 6.30pm (inc food), Trinity Room. Dianne Kershaw and Sharon Earl who have a lot of experience of living in community are coming down from Sheffield to talk about community living. They will be talking about living in a community house as single people and inviting people into family living, something a lot of us have been doing this year. Please let Anne Findley or Angela Howarth know if you would like to come.
